Anthropic lists a $0 Free plan for Claude. Its plan comparison excludes Claude Code from Free.

When to look beyond Claude

A strong shortlist candidate for document-heavy work, repeat business coordination and supervised parallel coding. The Projects beta is initially limited to selected Pro and Max accounts; usage, cloud boundaries and merge burden need a same-repository pilot. Independent testing is pending and no HubAI Score is assigned. Still, teams should test alternatives when pricing, data controls, output style, integrations or trial limits make a different product more practical.

Keep, add or replace?

Keep Claude if it meets the acceptance checks for your repeated work. Add another tool when it fills one missing capability. Replace it only after a same-work test covers results, total cost and the migration burden.

Before moving the workflow

  1. Carry over an approved brief, style rules and source pack. Check that citations, revisions and reusable prompts survive the move.
  2. Run the current and proposed routes on the same approved input. Record accepted results, corrections, reviewer time and total cost; keep vendor claims separate.
  3. Keep the original files and current workflow available. Check data export, deletion, cancellation and connector revocation before retiring the old service.
